Hydro Jetting
How Hydro Jetting Works
Hydro jetting is an innovative and highly efficient cleaning process that tackles tough blockages and buildup inside your plumbing lines. Our technicians use powerful truck-mounted systems containing commercial-grade pumps and diesel engines. We start the process with a thorough inspection of your pipes, usually with video camera equipment, to identify the location and nature of the clog. Once we identify the problem areas, we attach a carefully selected nozzle and spray pattern to target the specific drainage issue.
Water is then forced through this hose at high pressures ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 PSI or more to cut through and disintegrate all types of debris. This includes stubborn buildup like grease, sludge, tree roots, and mineral deposits. The high-velocity water stream not only breaks apart blockages but also washes away residue clinging to the pipe walls, leaving them clean and less likely to attract new buildup.
Benefits of Hydro Jetting vs Snaking
Snaking involves a more mechanical process using a metal cable to physically break through a clog. However, it does not provide the same level of thorough cleaning and can sometimes leave residue behind. The difference in effectiveness can be particularly important depending on the nature and severity of the pipe blockage.
Some benefits of choosing hydro jetting include:
- Thoroughly cleans the entire diameter and length of pipes
- Dislodges stubborn obstructions that snakes can’t clear
- Removes residue buildup for longer-lasting drainage
- Better cleaning of pitch and angle joints than rigid snakes
- Environmentally friendly process using only water
- Versatile for all drain types and materials
- Ideal preventative maintenance for drainage systems
- Restores full drainage capacity and water flow
- Removes embedded gunk and biofilm buildup over time
